About the Foundation
A Government-registered Section 8 non-profit, working out of North West Delhi to put trees back into the places that need them most.
Our story
We started because waiting was not working
Delhi routinely records some of the worst air quality of any capital city on earth. Every winter the same conversation happens, and every summer the shade that would have helped is still missing.
Ped Lagao India Foundation was set up to do the unglamorous version of environmental work — dig the pit, plant the sapling, fit the tree guard, come back and water it. No campaigns without follow-through, no plantation photographs of saplings that are dead by March.
We are incorporated as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, which means every rupee is legally bound to the objects of the Foundation and cannot be distributed as profit to anyone. We are registered under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and listed with NITI Aayog on the DARPAN portal.
Our Mission
To plant native and fruit-bearing trees across Delhi NCR and North India, to keep them alive through structured aftercare, and to build a volunteer network capable of doing this at scale.
Our Values
Survival over headcount. Transparency over promises. Local hands over outside contractors. If we cannot show you the tree three years later, we do not count it.

- To distribute saplings free of cost to families, farmers and institutions
- To promote waste segregation, plastic reduction and clean surroundings
- To work alongside government bodies, RWAs and panchayats on green projects
